Montane Traverse

Trail type: Singletrack
Beginner/Intermediate
Location: Cougar Creek parking lot on Benchlands Trail

Begin on the west side (same side as the parking lot) of Cougar Creek. Bike along the gravel until you come to a fork in the trail. The beginning of this trail is signed and there are marked junctions along the trail. There are several turnoffs you can take heading back into town, or for a longer ride you can continue to Harvie Heights.

The Alpine Club

Trail type: Singletrack

Location: Cougar Creek parking lot on Benchlands Trail
Distance: Variable, depending on which trails you follow

Begin on the east side (opposite the parking lot) of Cougar Creek. Once you pass the houses on the right hand side, turn right onto the singletrack that will take you up. There are a few different routes you can take, and major junctions are signed. An alternate starting point for this network of trails is at the Alpine Club of Canada Clubhouse.

Rundle Riverside

This singletrack trail begins at the Canmore Nordic Centre (follow the Banff Trail) and ends at the golf course in Banff. This trail is fairly technical and you will encounter many rocks and roots.
